• John Johnson Farm - An important landmark in the Latter Day Saints movement, Joseph Smith accepted the invitation of John Johnson to stay at the farm in late 1831. Eagle Creek State Nature Preserve in Ohio. ... Located in Portage County 2 miles northeast of Garrettsville on Center Road. This preserve encompasses a variety of communities supporting a diversity of flora and fauna typical of northeastern Ohio. Eagle Creek meanders through a wide floodplain dotted with beaver dams, marshlands, small bogs and button bush swamps. Alford's Glen is a renovated barn nestled in the middle of 40 acres of wooded beauty. The venue offers a personal ambiance with abundant space.

LaDue Reservoir – Situated just north of Hiram Inn, LaDue is a local favorite for fishing, bird watching, kayak trips, and paddleboarding.  Electric only boats are also allowed and bait shops can be found nearby to help anglers catch the Walleye, Perch, Crappie and Bluegill fish found in the waters. Public hunting land can be found in park areas adjacent to the waterfront and duck hunting zones are marked. Headwaters Trail – Connecting the small towns of Garrettsville and Mantua, the Headwaters Trail is an 8 mile, crushed limestone trail on the former Cleveland-Mahoning Railroad line. This shade covered path is perfect for biking, running, or an easy stroll with kids or pets. Accessible from multiple points with parking at nearly every trail crossing. Derthicks Corn Maze and Farm Experience - Kids and adults will enjoy the 17 acre corn maze and farm experience that can be found just down the road from the Hiram Inn. Each year the maze takes on a different shape to keep folks coming back for more. Easy trails for the little ones and challenging paths for those looking for adventure. Garrettsville Cinema - Locally owned, independent movie theater that offers first run movies and concessions at affordable prices. Hiram Farm - Located within walking distance from Hiram Inn, the Hiram Farm is a community organization whose purpose is to create meaningful work and inspiration for individual growth for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Hiram Field Station is a 4.9 mile loop trail located near Hiram, Ohio and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and trail running and is accessible year-round. Wandering through the woods, you can breathe easy. With one of the largest mature beech-maple forests in Ohio, the James H. Barrow Field Station is quiet and beautiful, teeming with diverse plant and animal life.
